He is a Japanese chisel(nomi) maker in Yoita (Niigata prefecture). A piece of his work is famous as "Genju Funahiro". He also makes planes these days and "Godaisan" and "Tenkei" are major ones of his plane works.
He uses pine charcoal for tempering. He is very careful about temperature control and the tempering process is done in darkness. He never gives up making high quality.
